About Doctor Marsh

State Representative Bill Marsh is serving his third term in the New Hampshire House. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Representative Marsh moved to the Granite State at the age of 17 to attend Dartmouth College. Very quickly, Bill fell in love with New Hampshire. After completing his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth, Bill decided to stay in Hanover and continue his education at Dartmouth Medical School.

Following Dartmouth Medical School, Doctor William Marsh spent 30 years as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, solo practitioner, and small business owner. For decades, patients new and old drove upwards of an hour to receive care from Dr. Marsh.

For the past 18 years, Marsh has served as a Trustee at Huggins Hospital, including two terms as Treasurer. During his tenure as Treasurer, Huggins returned to sound financial footing, ensuring continued access to healthcare for patients across the area. Since retiring from his practice, Marsh has served in the New Hampshire House representing District 8 in Carroll County. In his capacity as State Representative, Bill served as Chair of the Committee to Study Direct Primary Care, Vice Chair of the Health, Human Services & Elderly Affairs Committee, Vice Chair of the Carroll County Delegation, and Vice Chair of the Commission to Study Telehealth Services.

While in Concord, Representative Marsh developed a reputation for working across the aisle. Marsh has an impressive record of achieving results for his district as 45 bills that he sponsored or cosponsored become law – making him one of the most productive members of the New Hampshire Legislature.

As the next New Hampshire State Senator for District 3, Representative Marsh will continue to care for his community as he has for decades. Bill’s top priorities for the coming session are: support for working families, well-funded public schools, a science-based response to the pandemic, and strong protections for reproductive choice.

Outside of the legislature, Bill and his wife, Stefanie, live in Brookfield. Bill and Stefanie met at Dartmouth and have been married for 40 years. Together, they have five adult children. In his free time, Marsh and his family enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors and can often be found hiking the White Mountains!
